I have found Lalia through my friend's recommendation and followed a couple of intermediate courses, sometimes during the coronavirus pandemic and afterwards. It helped me tremendously improve my German speaking skills. Even though I took classes at the university before and was familiar with grammar, speaking is not easy! Luckily, Lalia provides an online and easy venue to speak a LOT with other people, communicate about interesting topics, and make language learning entertaining. In 4 month, Lalia's groups helped me push my German from virtually non-existent level to a stage where I can understand at least basic phrases and have a minimal dialogue. Their unique way of teaching through speaking instead of just providing grammar lessons is really helpful for me as it is both fun and effective. Definitely recommended for professionals / students with some German knowledge who want to get an almost daily occasion to speak the language and get more confortable with it. The format is perfect to fit into the day to day routine. Content and materials are very broad, which helps keeping the lessons engaging. I learned with LALIA for 4 months at the intermediate level after taking some more traditional German classes. An excellent school for German learners. Instead of learning German via grammars and vocabularies, Lalia gives different topics for each levels and you get to practice (and make mistakes) just by talking. This makes learning German less intimidating. Furthermore, the staff are always incredibly responsive and helpful, and the teachers are always full of energy and helpful. The class has about 6-7 people and you always get to practice speaking German even if you know nothing about the language. Overall I highly recommend Lalia to anyone who wants to learn and to use German in their daily life
