We had the pleasure to learn at the Stanford university from Professor Elizabeth Bernhardt and Dr. Paul Nissler how to use the communicative approach for second language acquisition. We have taught many classes and had much time to reflect upon the possible improvements and perfections for that method. 

In 2018, we came back from California to Germany. When we talked with friends and colleagues, we realised that many internationals face significant difficulties to master German. We saw how much time they had spent learning the language and how frustrated they were with the results they have achieved. When we explored the reasons behind this, we found out that many schools still apply the traditional grammar based approach. This motivated us to establish LALIA, a school that applies the communicative approach by adapting it specifically for the modern German context and offering fully student-centered classes. 

It is since then our greatest satisfaction to see the effective and rapid progress students of German make in our programme.
