This last class of the novice level is desined for students who have taken Novice 4 with LALIA or reached a comparable level by other methods. Some learners in this class have completed a A2.2 course. Conversation with learners at this level (NH+) is restricted to concrete exchanges and predictable topics necessary for survival (see Novice 4). The learners are primarily reactive and still struggle to answer direct questions. They are also able to ask a few appropriate questions. Their speech is characterized by frequent pauses, ineffective reformulations and self-corrections.
