1st Year German
- 4 times a week, 50 min. sessions.
- Online classes, 8 participants max.
Intermediate Low 1
The participants of this class have taken the Novice 5 course with LALIA or have reached a comparable level of speaking by other methods. Some of them have completed a B1 course of the CEFR. Students in this class have crossed the threshhold of the Novice: They create spontaneously their own meaningful sentences in German.
Intermediate Low 2
The participants of this class have taken the Intermediate Low 1 course with LALIA or have reached a comparable level of speaking by other methods. Some of them have completed a B1 course of the CEFR.
Intermediate Mid 1
Students in this class have taken Intermediate Low 2 course with LALIA or have reached a comparable level of speaking by other methods. Some of them have completed courses in the B1 levels of the CEFR. Speakers at this level (Intermediate Mid) can handle successfully a variety of uncomplicated communicative tasks in straightforward social situations. Conversation is generally limited to personal information, interests and personal preferences, as well as physical and social needs. Intermediate Mid speakers tend to function reactively, but they can also obtain simple information to satisfy basic needs, such as directions, prices, and services. In spite of the limitations in their vocabulary and/or pronunciation and/or grammar and/or syntax, Intermediate Mid speakers are generally understood by sympathetic interlocutors accustomed to dealing with non-natives.
Intermediate Mid 2
This is the second month in the level of Intermediate Mid (See above: Intermediate Mid 1). In this course, learners will gain more confidence and competences at interacting in realistic German language encounters by working on their readiness to build connected discourse, increasing their word-power, and acquiring new grammatical patterns. Learners in this class have been exposed to most high-frequency structural patterns in German with LALIA or by other methods, for example courses at the B2.
Intermediate Mid 3
The Intermediate llevel feels sometimes like a plateau. This is the third month, and you will be gradually pulling yourself out of there. Improvement at this level will take the form of a growing confidence, more vocabulary and the desire to express more complicated ideas and using slighlty more connected discourse.
